The cold rush of wind slaps my bare skin. I'm shivering as hard and as fast as an earthquake can. Everywhere I look a darkness follows where there is no end, no hope, and no forgiving God to turn to. A beam of light shines through and as I run towards it... I run into a donkey.
The donkey stares with sorrowful eyes, he too lives in this shadow of darkness, trapped inside a woven rope cage. Somehow I knew if I left him there, he'd only face an ultimate and tragic death. I know he’s here. Staring at me: watching my every move like a predator stalking its prey. Through studying me he learns what angle to go by, and waits to go in for the kill. He slowly became mesmerized by my charms. He believes he’s got me under his spell, but I’m not so naive or oblivious as I once was before him.
The words he chose to speak is like having a loaded gun glistening in front of me beckoning for me to reach it, to touch it, to aim and fire it at myself. My body grows numb with the anticipation of the unknown outcome. I can feel the anxiety coursing its way through my veins and forming lumps in the back
